Achievements and The Background, Achievements of ZCPD President Trust Tapiwa Chikohora

Trust Tapiwa Chikohora is the President of Zimbabwe Coalition for Peace and Development which was formed on March 16 where he was elected president of ZCPD party.

Chikohora was born in Chivi district of Masvingo on December 1 1974 . He did his primary and secondary education in Gweru at Cecil John Rhodes and Fletcher High School respectively before enrolling at the University of South Africa for his professional expertize.

At the University of South Africa he specialized in the field of Accounting and achieved the following qualifications and grades;

Chartered Accounting highest grade, Fellow Chartered Accounting highest grade again. He is a Registered Public Auditor, Registered Estate Administrator and Insolvency Practitioner. He holds Masters in Business Administration specializing in strategy and he also went to the International leadership Training Institute of Directors.

Chikohora has several achievements in the field of Accounting. He launched the only firm of Chartered Accountants in the Midlands in 2004 and also launched the first Employment Agency again in the Midlands the same year in 2004.

He served in different professional bodies that includes being a first lecturer of auditing at Midlands State University at its inception; he served as the President of Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce 2010 – 2011, Secretary General of COMESA Business Council 2010 -2013, served on Council of Institute of Directors for six years, served on the Council of Midlands State University (MSU) for six years; Chairman Standard Association of Zimbabwe for five years; Special Interest Councillor of Gweru from 2009 -2013 .

Chikohora was in 2021 awarded Institute of Chartered Accountants Public and Social Impact Excellence Award. He is a member of Board National CODE on corporate governance in Zimbabwe and he wrote acknowledgement page of the CODE a renowned economist and a chairperson of the economic committee in the Political Actors Dialogue ( POLAD).

In 2014 Chikohora was part of the team who formed Renewal Democrats of Zimbabwe party which was led by Elton Mangoma and he was the Secretary General.

In 2016 they became part of the Coalition of Democrats ( CODE) and they contested in the election 2018 with Elton Mangoma as the presidential candidate while Chikohora contested in Gweru urban and came third behind MDC Alliance and ZANU PF.

After 2018 elections in October they formed CODE party and he became the leader. He was instrumental in the formation of POLAD and became a member at its inception in 2019 and became one of the principals of POLAD and chairman of Economic Committee. of ZCPD President Trust Tapiwa Chikohora
