Association of lndependent Colleges Zimbabwe Sanyati District hold ball games competitions

Association of lndependent Colleges Zimbabwe (AICZ), Sanyati District, held it’s this year’s ball games competitions in Rimuka, Kadoma at the city council grounds on the 16th of June. The games played eminent: soccer, netball and volleyball. There were about six Colleges that registered for the event and these include : Budiriro B College, Vibrant Booms Academy, Herentals Group of Colleges, Bright Future College, Father Flower Group of Schools and Emmanuel College. There were two age groups per each discipline for boys and girls (under 15 and 17) except for girls soccer which was one team per college.

‘Gurus’ of the day were Vibrant Booms Academy, Bright Future College and Father Flower Group of Schools. Their teams across board, attained positions one and two. The event was graced by the presence of AICZ vice president at national level, being the AICZ Mashonaland West province sitting chairperson and Budiriro B. College Principal, Mr I. Chakawanda. This event marked a long journey for outstanding players. According to Mr Chakawanda, outstanding players are set to go for the provincial completions, national competitions then proceed to Zambia. These competition unlike the last term AICZ athletics competitions, are going to set a history for successful players. AICZ Sanyati District Chairperson and Vibrant Booms Academy Administrator, Mr G. Murehwa, applauded tireless efforts and cooperation flaunted by these six colleges that attended the event. He encouraged them to continously work together so as to fly high. However, under seventeen boys are expected to have their finals on the 20th of June. AICZ ball games are conducted every june of each year and various colleges attend. This year’s attendance, however, dwindled as only six Colleges affiliated compared to previous years where Colleges in Sanyati District affiliated in their numbers.
