Chibuku Neshamwari festival set for Chegutu

Chegutu district is set to host yet another cultural event on the this July after commemorating Cultures Day at Chief Ngezi’s homestead where over 1500 people were in attendance.

This time all roads lead again to Chegutu for the Chibuku Neshamwari Dance Festival provincial competition where 10 cultural dance groups are expected to battle out for a sole ticket to represent Mashonaland west in the finals.

Zimbabwe Traditional Dancers Association (ZTDA) in partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe has been organizing this biggest dance festival in the country which is sponored by Delta Beverages.

The organizers have put in place a salivating program that has been spiced up by lots of entertainment.

Last year’s Mashonaland West provincial Chibuku Neshamwari dance festival was held in Karoi and Budiriro Cultural Arts emerged the winner and went on to represent the province in the finals.

This year’s edition is expecting 10 groups across the province to participate. Groups such as Rimuka Stars Gure and Chabvondoka, among other groups, are expected to battle it out for a ticket for the national finals later this year.

The group which will take centre stage, Rimuka Stars, is promising fireworks, buoyed by the support they get from Chegutu traditional dance fans, especially the Nyau community that they do not want to disappoint.
