By Edward Makuzva
Having a clean and healthy workspace is a major cornerstone when it comes to running a successful business.
Instead, you need to make sure your offices are regularly cleaned and maintained in order to ensure that your employees are happy, healthy and productive while also leaving a good first impression on business partners and potential customers.
NetOne on Friday mobilized a clean up exercise in a bid to ensure a clean and safe environment in the country.
The clean up campaign exercise comes after His Excellent, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa announced that every first Friday of each month there should be a clean up campaign in the whole country so as to make sure the country is clean.
In an interview on the sidelines of the clean up campaign, NetOne general manager Learnmore Musunda said the clean-up campaign is done nationwide on the first Friday of the month.
Masunda added that cleanliness is a key part of health and safety to keep your workplace free of germs, pollutants, and other irritants.
“The national clean-up campaign involves all our NetOne offices and also everywhere where we operate. Right no as I speak, all our offices in Masvingo, Bulawayo, Beitbridge, Gweru, Kwekwe and others are actually participating in this initiative.
“This is a very an important event for the Netone family they say charity begins at home and for us we are in support of government’s national initiatives to clean up our environment. So you see us here today cleaning this environment its not just about our own environment but we also we want to clean up the whole streets around Kaguvi St and Harare St so that we lead by example as you can see that our neighbours have also joined in making sure we are supporting the government drive.
” To help us regain Harare as a sunshine City and a lot of things is happening here because of this initiatives this environment is coming up clean you can see that previously it was very dirty but now we are now having a clean environment.
“This intiative is actually supporting government’s drive towards cleaning our local environment. So we are actually supporting government as you are aware that every first Friday of each month, government gave instruction for citizens to clean up where they live and work, so this is what we are doing” Musunda explained.
The telecommunications giant NetOne and Zimbabwe’s leading digital solutions mobile network operator’s employees voluntarily chose to leave their offices and brave the chilly weather with brooms and bin liners to clean the surrounding area of NetOne Building Kopje.
Masunda highlighted that this is a government initiative towards making sure that we live in a clean environment.
The clean campaign was graced by City Council officials, Environmental Management Agency ( EMA), Netone staff and Media practitioners.
