Prominent Chegutu prophet sentenced to community service for theft

Prominent Johanne Masowe Nyenyedzi Nomwe (Nguwo Tsvuku) prophet Madzibaba Khumbulani Mkanga has been sentenced to community service as punishment for theft.

Madzibaba Khumbulani appeared today before the Chegutu Magistrates Court, where he was jointly charged with Joseph Isaac for unlawful entry with intent to steal and theft.

The court heard that on May 25, 2024, the accused unlawfully entered House in Kaguvi Phase 3, Chegutu, and took a screen door and window frames belonging to Biyeti Tsede.

Recently, another Chegutu religious leader, Prophet Timothy Michael of New Generation Prophetic Ministries, faced court charges for sexually abusing a female congregant.

Prophet Timothy was arrested following reports that he allegedly demanded a kiss from Kudzaishe Magavhude, a female church member, in April this year.

However, Magavhude later withdrew the case, allowing Timothy to avoid further legal consequences.
