ZPCS Embracing Commercial Business Model Dimension

Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) has embarked on a commercial business model dimension to drive growth and self-sustainance in line with national development strategy 1(NDS1).
According to Assistant Commissioner Davison Garauzive of Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services(ZPCS),speaking at Mashonaland west investment conference in Kadoma on Friday.He said this strategic shift is aimed at transforming the organization into a major player in the country’s economy.
“We are moving away from the traditional model, where we relied heavily on government funding,” said Assistant Commissioner. “Instead, we are embracing a commercial business model that will enable us to generate revenue and become self-sustaining.”
The Assistant Commissioner revealed that ZPCS has identified several key areas for commercialization.
ZPCS has land that is being utilized for large-scale farming, providing a steady supply of fresh produce to the market.
ZPCS intends to develop its prison facilities into tourist attractions, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the country’s correctional services history.
“We believe that this commercial business model dimension will not only benefit ZPCS but also contribute to the country’s economic growth and development,” said Assistant Commissioner Garauzive
The Assistant Commissioner emphasized that ZPCS is committed to ensuring that its commercialization efforts do not compromise its core mandate of rehabilitating offenders and maintaining public safety,
“We are confident that our commercial business model dimension will be a success and will help us achieve our goals of self-sustainability and economic growth,” said Assistant Commissioner Davison Garauzive
