Two years jail for woman who killed her husband over infidelity

A Zvishavane woman will spend the next two years in jail for killing her husband, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is reporting.

20-year-old Latifa Yokoniya of Zvishavane appeared before the High Court sitting at Gweru on culpable homicide charges following the death of her husband, Augustine Hove (34).

The court heard that on the 28th of June 2024, in Vanguard Mberengwa, a marital dispute ensued when Hove accused Latifa of infidelity. The argument escalated, and Latifa stabbed the now-deceased twice. Hove died on the 1st of August 2024 as a result of injuries sustained during the stabbing.

Yokoniya was sentenced to three years, one of which was suspended.
