“You’ll Be Disqualified”: Govt Issues Strong Warning on Heritage-Based Curriculum School-Based Projects
The government, through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, has issued a strong warning to students regarding School-Based Projects (SBPs), a key component of the new Heritage-Based Curriculum.
Under this curriculum, every student must complete one SBP per learning area each year. These projects focus on hands-on learning and practical skill application. To guide their implementation, the Ministry released Secretary’s Circular No. 9 of 2024, outlining clear instructions for all educational levels.
Govt Warns Against Hiring Help for Heritage-Based Curriculum School Projects
Now, the Ministry is cautioning students against outsourcing their SBPs. In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Ministry warned that hiring someone to complete these projects undermines their purpose. Any student caught doing so will have their work disqualified, and the project will not count towards their final ZIMSEC exam marks.
