By Desire Tshuma
The Destiny of Afrika Marondera housing project is part of a larger initiative by Destiny of Afrika Network, which aims to deliver 100,000 housing units nationwide.
Specifically, in Marondera, the project is expected to provide affordable housing options to low- and middle-income earners.
“More housing projects are coming and thousands of low- income earners, informal traders, teachers, nurses, policemen, members of national and state security, pastors and ordinary Zimbabweans are set to benefit from this housing project. We don’t just preach but we put our faith into action, we are more doers than talkers,” explained Rev Musindo.
Several beneficiaries of the project in Marondera, have already received their housing units. The project’s focus is on providing affordable housing solutions and is aligned with the government’s vision of provision of housing to all citizens in Zimbabwe and in the diaspora.
Rev. Musindo’s Destiny of Afrika Network has launched housing projects nationwide, aiming to deliver 100,000 housing units by 2030. The project is clearly focusing on providing affordable housing to low- and middle-income earners.
The project has already entered its second phase, with 5,000 housing stands set to be developed in Harare and Chitungwiza. The Marondera Destiny of Afrika housing project has been facing some challenges, and it appears that some individuals are obstructing the development.
Rev Musindo specifically mentioned Wilson Masokovere and Temba Sauramba, who are senior officials of the Destiny for Afrika Network National Housing Projects Development Trust, have been accused of allegedly hindering the project’s progress.
There have been reports of clashes and infighting among members of the trust, which has put the investments of thousands of residents at risk. The trust’s founder and president, Reverend Musindo, has called for an audit of the trust’s finances.
As a result of the embezzlement of funds for the project, ZACC is probing the two project officers for mismanagement of funds. Rev Musindo who is the founder and the director of Destiny of Afrika housing projects clearly explained the project’s success shall never be distracted by the two men whom he had entrusted to hold posts as project managers.
