Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Takesure Chiragwi bemoaned their ineffectiveness in capitalizing on chances as they shared points with Highlanders in a Castle Premier Soccer league match on Easter Monday at Baobab

Ngezi fluffed to convert several opportunities in the first half and strongly resisted marauding Highlanders in the second half, resulting in a goalless draw

After the tables turned in the final half, Ngezi were fortunate not to concede when Highlander’s hitman Never Rauzhi’s low shot deflected off a defender and struck the upright post, while Darlington Musariranwa had moved to the opposite side.

Chiragwi acknowledged the game was evenly contested but felt they should have secured victory in the first half

“We should have wrapped up the match in the opening half. We created numerous opportunities to take the lead against Highlanders, but we could not manage to get goals”

In the second half, Highlanders came back
strong but we stood firm against their efforts,” said Chiragwi

Given their determination and the chances they got, Highlanders gaffer Kevin Kaindu expressed discontent for failing to bag valuable points.

” I think picking up a point indicates that we didn’t perform very well. It’s unfortunate, we could not score today; we created better chances than them. With a bit of luck, we should have come away with maximum points,” said Kaindu

The ineptness in front of goalmouth dampened the match which featured moments of action at both ends
