Father-in-law beats up daughter-in-law after she had a misunderstanding with his son in Redcliff, Kwekwe
The Kwekwe Magistrates Court has sentenced 56 year old man Stephen Ndlovu on assault charges after he beat up his daughter in law.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe on the said day, the victim had a misunderstanding with her husband.
The father in law then intervened resulting in him slapping his daughter in law in the face.

The Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court convicted Stephen Ndlovu, a 56-year-
old man charged with physical abuse under the Domestic Violence Act.
The incident occurred on May 4, 2025, at Plot 2 Vermont Farm,
Redcliff, where Ndlovu assaulted his daughter in law who is 21 years
old. On the morning of the incident, a misunderstanding arose
between the victim and her husband.
In response, the offender
forcibly entered the victim’s home, escalating the situation. During the
confrontation, the offender slapped the victim five times on the face
with open hands and as a consequence of the attack, the victim
sustained a swollen face.
The offender was sentenced to pay a fine of US$100 on or by 19 May
2025 and in default of payment of the fine he will serve an
imprisonment term of 2 months.
The NPAZ encourages members of the public to resolve issues
amicably without resorting to violence.
