Two sisters raped several times soon after receiving prayers at a shrine in the Crowborough Phase 3 area of Harare

An unidentified man was reported to have taken turns to rape the two sisters aged 40 and 34 at knife point at around 5pm. The two visited a self-styled prophet, received prayers and as they were leaving the shrine, they met the perpetrator who force marched them to a bushy area around the shrine and raped them.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case and appealed for information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect.

“Police are investigating a rape case involving two sisters.

“The complainants, who are sisters, were heading home from a bushy area where they were doing some prayers at an Apostolic Shrine.

“On their way, they met the accused person who grabbed one of the complainants and pointed an okapi knife to her head.

“He ordered the complainants to remain silent and force marched them for about 500 metres into the long grasses.

“He raped both complainants several times without protection,” said Insp Chakanza.
