COKE COUPLE BUSTED! Bulawayo lovebirds nabbed with juiced up mbanje stash

A BULAWAYO couple is behind bars after police uncovered a cocktail of hard drugs including cocaine and exotic strains of mbanje in a dramatic city raid.

Darian-Lee Kevin Lloyd Jackson (31) and his partner Lakin Lee Robinson (32) were arrested on 13 July 2025 by crack detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics in Bulawayo’s CBD.

According to a police statement posted on social media, the narcotics haul was discovered stashed in the couple’s vehicle and later at their home in the leafy West Somerton suburb.

Among the high-grade cannabis strains recovered were mouth-watering names like Cheese, Dosidos, Gush Mint, Sunset Sherbet, Oreo, Hot Cake, Blue Cheese, Gary Payton and Grape Gas, plus loose dagga and sachets of cocaine.

“The drugs were hidden in the couple’s family car, with more found during a follow-up search at their residence,” confirmed police.

The ZRP has vowed to tighten the noose on drug peddlers, warning that no one, not even suburban sweethearts, is above the law.

“We urge the public to continue supplying information to help rid our communities of these illegal substances,” the police said.

The duo now faces a string of drug-related charges and is expected to appear in court soon.
