Minister Ndhlovu Urges Bold Reforms at Strategic Plan Review

KADOMA-The Minister of Industry and Commerce,Hon. Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu,has called on stakeholders to recommit to Zimbabwe’s industrial transformation through bold, measurable and accountable strategies.
Speaking at the Mid-Year Strategic Plan Review Workshop held at Kadoma Rainbow Hotel, Minister Ndhlovu described the event as a critical platform to reflect on the Ministry’s performance and align efforts with national economic objectives.
“This workshop is more than just a checkpoint, it is a moment of strategic reflection and renewed purpose as we push towards the targets set under NDS1 and the Zimbabwe Industrial Reconstruction and Growth Plan,”he said.
Addressing senior Ministry staff, parastatal heads, industry representatives and facilitators, the Minister emphasized the urgency of revitalizing the manufacturing sector, expanding local content production, and accelerating rural industrialization.
With the nation preparing for the transition into NDS2 and ZNIDP2, Hon Ndhlovu underscored the need for “anticipatory governance”,calling on staff to embrace innovation and agility in response to global economic shifts.
He outlined three core pillars for success ,Actionability, Measurability and Accountability, encouraging participants to provide honest assessments and forward-thinking solutions.
“We must be bold, analytical and results-driven.Your contributions here will directly shape the next phase of Zimbabwe’s industrial path,”he told delegates.
The Minister also commended the Public Service Academyfor its role in facilitating the workshop, describing it as a timely intervention to strengthen government performance.
