Apostle Alfred Taurainashe Bachi, a long-time servant of God and seasoned musician, has officially released his first studio-recorded song titled “Rusero.” The song marks a major milestone in a musical journey that began nearly 50 years ago.

Apostle Bachi began his music career in 1976 at the age of nine, playing in his school’s percussion band. In 1993, he co-founded a gospel group called The Devil Crushers in Sanyati, at a place known as Arda or Tilco.

The founding members of The Devil Crushers included:

Mukoma Bachi – drums, lead vocals, and song composition

Robert Chitofu – lead and backing vocals

Samuel Chitofu – bass guitar

Rumbidzai Chitofu – backing vocals

Linda Nyambo – backing vocals

Elphus Mizu – drums

Hopewell Tavengwa – dancer

In the late 1990s, Mukoma Bachi started a new group called Simbirirai Stars Music and Drama, based in Chirau-Zvimba. The group was registered with the Ministry of Education and became well-known in the area under the nickname “VeMabhareta Vauya” (The Beret People), because of their signature headgear.

Some notable members of Simbirirai Stars included:

Pondai Kahonde

Charles Makaya

Emmanuel “Kaputu” Vuni – a talented footballer, singer, accordion and mbira player

Muvha Muvha

The late Rodgers “Ajira” Muvha

The late Augustine Kabondo

Francis Kavimbanemoyo

Madhobha Tapera Tumbare

Moris Tapera Tumbare

The group performed in various schools in Chirau and Zvimba, such as Mandevani, Chinyabowa, Dzingwe, Kasanze, Marevanani, Mururi, Mabvure, and Matoranhembe.

In 2000, Mukoma Bachi’s musical journey took a new turn when he was invited to sing at a crossover service by the late Apostle Morrison Morgan Mbabane. That event led him to join a seed company as a general hand and later a supervisor. Throughout this time, only two members remained in his team — Mukoma Bachi and Samuel Chitofu.

Apostle Mbabane played a vital role in shaping his life, even buying him musical instruments from Thailand. Apostle Bachi speaks with deep gratitude about both Apostle Mbabane and Mhamha Apostle Mbabane, calling them his spiritual parents. He says, “Without them, I wouldn’t be here.”
He went on giving thanks to his big supporter and wife for 25 years Tryness Sanisai Miganhu(Amai Apostle). She is the one who writes down his songs since he only sing off head.

Today, Apostle Alfred Taurainashe Bachi leads Christ’s Love International Ministries based in Juru. He is known for his humble character, deep love for people, and strong commitment to helping the underprivileged.

The release of “Rusero” is just the beginning. Apostle Bachi has promised that more songs are on the way as he continues to share the gospel through music.

May God continue to bless his ministry and his music.
