Storming Of AL-Aqsa Mosque By Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir Condemned
By Desire Tshuma
The State of Palestine strongly condemns the provocative storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and groups of extremist settlers, carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces. This action is a flagrant violation of international law and a direct assault on the historical and legal status quo of the holy site.
The storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is not an isolated incident, but rather the latest in a series of deliberate provocations of the feelings of Muslims and Christians around the world by Israel, which have escalated tensions in the region to a breaking point.
The Ambassador of Palestine Dr Tamer Almassri reiterates that these systematic provocations, including attacks on Christians and recent calls for annexation, have only served to exacerbate the already volatile situation, pushing the region to the brink of a regional war.
Furthermore, the ongoing Israeli bombardment and starvation in Gaza, which has lasted for over 660 days, has resulted in the senseless slaughter of 28 children per day. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is nothing short of catastrophic, with over 60,000 Palestinians killed and 12,000 more buried under the rubble. The international community cannot continue to turn a blind eye to these atrocities, and it is imperative that urgent action is taken to bring an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The State of Palestine calls upon the international community to condemn these actions in the strongest possible terms and to take concrete steps to hold Israel accountable for its violations of international law. The continued silence and inaction of the international community in the face of these atrocities have only emboldened Israel to continue its aggression, and it is imperative that this complicity is brought to an end.
