Ticket Rush as Winky D’s “Tete a Tete” Show Nears Sell-Out….Alex Sports Club 30 August
Excitement is reaching fever pitch as fans scramble for tickets to Winky D’s much-anticipated concert, “Tete-a-Tete: The Ghetto Dialogue”, set for August 30 at Alex Sports Club in Harare.
The event, billed as an intimate conversation between the Zimdancehall kingpin and his legion of supporters, has already seen some outlets run out of early-bird tickets.
Concert promoter Patson “Chipaz” Chimbodza confirmed that demand has been overwhelming and hinted that ticket prices could rise on the day of the show.
“What we have done is we have disbursed tickets for phase one to all outlets, and we have disbursed tickets for phase two to all outlets.
“Those who reported to have run out are probably the phase one, which are US$15 and phase two are US$15.
“We had a limited number of phase one tickets.
“I would advise fans to buy tickets early because on the day of the show, the value will be different from the phase two one,” Chimbodza told NewZimbabwe.com.
Winky D, celebrated for using his music as a tool to amplify the struggles of the socially marginalised, is expected to fuse live performance with dialogue, engaging directly with fans on pressing social issues.
Speculation is also swirling around whether the “Big Man” will surprise fans with a new project.
His last album, Eureka Eureka (2023), shook the nation with its sharp social commentary, sparking debate among both his admirers and critics in political circles.
