Jameson High School Shines at Zimbabwe Agricultural Show

Jameson High School has emerged as the 2025-2026 Secondary Schools Category Top Winner at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, held from August 25 to 30 at the Harare Showgrounds.
The school’s exhibition, crafted under the theme “Building Bridges: Connecting Agriculture, Industry and Community,” impressed judges and visitors with its creative blend of innovation and tradition.
Learners showcased a wide range of natural juices, including Baobab, Carrot, Beetroot, Tamarind, Tomato, Mango, and Coconut. A standout was Coconut Yoghurt, praised for its probiotic health benefits.
From the confectionery section came Beetroot Cookies and Masawu Cakes, providing healthy alternatives with a Zimbabwean flavour. The horticultural display featured fresh vegetables and a rich variety of herbs such as Basil, Mint, Lavender, and Thyme all noted for their medicinal and nutritional properties.
The innovative stand attracted high-profile visitors, including President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and Minister of Agriculture Dr. Anxious Masuka. The school was praised for aligning with government priorities under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and Vision 2030.
Patron Mrs Chitongo was celebrated for her dedication, while learners such as Christol Chomudondo, Rutendo Kufari, and Brandon Majuru drove the projects with creativity and passion. Strong backing came from the School Development Committee, led by Mrs Mudada, as well as supportive teachers and staff. Headmaster Mr Abenol Matsiwe was applauded for his visionary leadership.
Jameson High says it will build on this historic achievement by diversifying its innovations and continuing to compete at national and international levels.
“This is more than a school victory;it is a celebration of Zimbabwean resilience and ingenuity,” said Headmaster Matsiwe.
With its motto SINE METU “Without Fear”Jameson High has proven that the fusion of tradition and innovation can produce extraordinary results.
