Zvidhoma ‘Goblins’ Curse….Women sexually abused, children die in mysterious deaths in Epworth

A FAMILY in the Overspill area of Epworth says they are living in terror after goblins, locally known as ondofa, reportedly began attacking young women and girls in the household, causing mysterious deaths and spreading fear among relatives.

The Malawi-born family has suffered multiple losses over the years. The father, Fraction Nota, died in 2000 while the mother, Menalla Pangeti Nota, passed away in 2019. Their daughter, Agnes Nota (54), says the family originally had 12 children but only seven remain.

“We were 12 but now we are seven. People die young, one after another. This trouble has affected husbands, grandchildren and has created a cycle of fear and witchcraft in the family,” Agnes said.

Since 2019, six people have died within a single year. “Our parents left us 52 grandchildren but we fear for their lives because of how these deaths are happening. Young girls are cursed, and boys are targeted by women. Whenever we seek help, we are told it is caused by family issues and goblins,” she added.

Agnes revealed that one of their brothers, Patrick Nota, was killed by unknown people in 2006 in Ruwa. Women and girls in the family are reportedly being sexually abused by invisible forces, forcing some to flee the household. Employment is scarce, and relatives are sometimes expelled for unclear reasons.

In the past three weeks, the family discovered a strange multicoloured ribbon tied on their father’s grave, a sign they believe is linked to the goblin attacks.

Friday Nota (55), a fourth-born son in the family, confirmed the claims and appealed for urgent help. “When we buried our father, we discovered money and other items missing. No one in the family has control over finances. We are being haunted by the goblin, chased by women, and our daughters and sisters are cursed. People are dying in ways we cannot understand,” he said.

The family has no remaining relatives locally, as their grandparents came from Boma, Malawi. Friday said the older generation now tries to handle the situation themselves.

Loveness Nota (41), added that she has been cursed. Of the five men she has been married to, three passed away and two left her for no reason. “We are suffering under this curse. Three of the men I was married to died, the other two who dumped me. Men now fear to approach us. Many young girls are dying in households where goblins are active. We face strange illnesses, cannot find jobs, and women are sexually abused by invisible men. We urgently need help,” she said.

She also revealed that some family members avoid travelling due to repeated road accidents, which they believe are linked to the goblin’s influence.

The family continues to live in fear, seeking assistance to break the mysterious and deadly curse that has haunted them for generations. — UMthunywa
