Pen Commercial College Rewards Students’ Hard Work and Dedication

The annual Speech and Prize Giving Day ceremony of Pen Commercial College was a grand affair, held at the prestigious Anglican Hall in Kadoma on Friday. The event brought together proud parents, guardians, and distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students who had worked tirelessly to excel in their studies. The ceremony was a testament to the college’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work, dedication, and academic excellence.
As the students, resplendent in their uniforms, filed into the hall, the atmosphere was electric with excitement and anticipation. The event’s guest of honor, accompanied by the college’s administration and teaching staff, took the stage to welcome the gathering and set the tone for the ceremony. The students’ hard work and dedication were palpable, and the excitement was evident in their beaming smiles and enthusiastic applause.During her opening remarks, PCC principal Portia Hwami said their core value was to assist learners to be able to move into the mainstream world without an challeng.
“At Pen Commercial College, our vision is to be the leading institute that assists learners to escape the bonds of poverty and helplessness by providing education, life skills, values and a caring environment that will empower learners to successfully move into the mainstream of the world,” said the Principal.
The principal also talked about the Heritage Based Curriculum ( HBC) and said the curriculum will produce a well balanced learner who will fit well in the socio-economic demands of the day.
“In relation to the National Development Strategy 1 and the roots of the Heritage-Based Curriculum, we produce a well balanced learner who fits well in the socio-economic demands of the day,” said Hwami
The ceremony was filled with inspiring speeches, captivating performances, and the presentation of awards to deserving students. The guest of honour delivered a motivating speech, encouraging the students to continue striving for excellence and to remain focused on their goals. The students were reminded that their hard work and dedication had not gone unnoticed and that their achievements were a testimony to their potential to excel in all areas of life.
” It is pleasing to note that the college offers a very wide Curriculum that includes academic and vocational courses and it is through these courses that reference and adaptability feature very well in the products of the college and I want to remind you that your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed and that your achievements are a testimony to your potential to excel in all areas of life,” said Pertunia Maparo who was the Guest of Honour.
Sanyati District Schools Inspector Joseph Majasi who was represented by Sanyati Schools Inspector Machinda Magwegwe commended the College for their efforts to align their activities and policies to the resources the Ministry.
“Pen Commercial College has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to aligning their activities and policies with the requirements of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education regulations, a proof to the college’s dedication to providing quality education. We commend this effort, which is evident in the college’s operations and is worthy of recognition,” said Majasi “This adherence to Ministry Policy has made it a flourishing example of visionary leadership,” he said.
