Mambokadzi concert brings female power on stage
GATEWAY Stream Media, a subsidiary of the Rainbow Tourism Group, in partnership with ZAR Events, will next month stage NUBIAN NOTES — a celebration of women in music.
The event, meant to celebrate and amplify the voices of women in music, set for November 8, will take place at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
Dubbed “Mambokadzi — The Rise of Her Sound,” the “one-of-a-kind” concert will showcase an all-female line-up of some of Zimbabwe’s most prominent performers, including Feli Nandi, Gemma Griffiths, Tamy Moyo, Shashl and Nisha Ts. Gateway Stream Media manager Elton Kurima said the event was intended to be more than mere entertainment.
“NUBIAN NOTES is more than a concert, it is a movement to champion and elevate women in music, and offer a stage where their artistry, creativity and cultural impact are fully recognised,” he said.
“As part of our ongoing quest to support women in the industry, the event promises an unforgettable showcase of expertise, enthusiasm and craftsmanship.
“This concert is dedicated to shining the spotlight on female musician artistry in Zimbabwe and beyond.”
Kurima said the show would offer an “unforgettable showcase of expertise, enthusiasm and craftsmanship”.
Organisers said the concert would present a diverse range of sounds — from Afro‑soul to dancehall and pop — and aimed to amplify female voices shaping the country’s contemporary music scene.
With each artiste bringing her distinct style, the event is being promoted as one of the biggest musical celebrations of female talent in Zimbabwe this year.
Launched in 2020, Gateway Stream Media is an award‑winning entertainment platform and music promoter that has worked with various artistes and produced a number of successful shows.
The company’s latest collaboration with ZAR Events continues its effort to support and elevate women in the industry.
Tickets for NUBIAN NOTES are on sale in Harare at Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre, the New Ambassador Hotel, and all MedOrange pharmacies, with the least priced at US$10, while a VIP ticket costs US$20. — _*NewsDay*_
