As the tension and anticipation builds up the Zifa Mashwest Displinary Committee will on 1 November 2025 deliberate on a number of abandoned matches from across its three Division Two leagues.

According to a Notice to clubs to appear for a boardroom decision at Zifa Offices in Chinhoyi, gleaned by Observer Sports, the Derrick Matapuri-led executive had come under fire from clubs and some sections of division two fans for taking too long to come up with decisions on abandoned matches with the season having only left with less than 10 fixtures to be played before Division One playoffs kick off.

From Division 2A, three abandoned matches will be on the table, third-placed Zambezi Valley, with 57 points and 5th placed Nyabira on 50 points, Second-placed Karoi Bush Bucks on 58,and 17th-placed Aryshire and Sikona’s match with Kariba Academy.

In Division Two B East, the Displinary Committee will deliberate on 4th-placed Truck City (57points) against 5th-placed Norton Big Boys on 52 points. A boardroom decision in favour of Truck City will take them to third place on the D2B East log.

In Division Two B West, logleaders Barcelona Kadoma match away to Vods Spotlight in Patchway was abandoned after fans invaded the pitch in protest to the assistant ref’s decision calling for an offside after Barca had taken the lead. During the mayhem the match official called off the match on security concerns.

The outcome of the boardroom decision of the Vods/Barca has been one of the most anticipated match result in the Division Two B West league as it has a bearing on the log standings.

In another related decision in Mashwest Division Two leagues chairperson Derrick Matapuri has issued a memo that there have been changes to the appointments of match officials.

The Matapuri-led board has directed that match officials will no longer be appointed on a district-related basis but be from across the province. These will be appointed to officiate in any district for the spirit of fairness as the battle for Division One playoffs beckons.
