Three Cops in Trouble for Assaulting a Motorist
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has swiftly taken disciplinary action against three officers caught on camera assaulting a motorist in Budiriro a video that has since sparked outrage across social media.
In a statement, police authorities condemned the behavior, stating:
“The ZRP has taken note of the Budiriro traffic enforcement viral social media incident.
“The police command does not condone such conduct by police officers and has taken appropriate action against the three police officers with immediate effect.”
However, the statement also hinted at provocation, suggesting that the altercation escalated after the motorist allegedly hurled insults at the officers.
“Motorists are urged to be law-abiding citizens and to avoid using obscene or vulgar language towards police officers, especially women, when arrests are being made,” it added.
