Zimbabwean man kills himself after killing his 50-year old sugar mama in Limpopo

A 40-year-old man from Zimbabwe hanged himself after allegedly strangling his 50-year-old partner during a domestic dispute. The bodies were discovered on Wednesday, November 5, in Maunandzhele Village, Limpopo.

According to local police, the couple was found in a one-room house, and their bodies were significantly decomposed.

Police spokesman Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said: “Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased woman, aged 50, was in a relationship with the deceased man, a 40-year-old Zimbabwean national. It is suspected that the male assaulted and strangled the female before taking his own life.

“Family members last saw the couple on Saturday, November 1, around 6 PM, and they made the grim discovery several days later.”

Major-General Jan Scheepers, acting police commissioner for Limpopo, expressed concern about rising incidents of domestic violence and intimate partner killings.

“This tragic event highlights the serious consequences of domestic abuse. We encourage anyone facing such situations to seek help before it’s too late,” he said.

Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the incident.
