Single Mother Kills Her Three-Year-Old Daughter To Marry New Boyfriend

A 35-year-old woman from Village 2, Fair Range, Mkwasine, has been arrested after allegedly murdering her three-year-old daughter to marry her new boyfriend, who reportedly refused to marry her while she had a child.

It is alleged that Geviza Fadzai (35) fatally stabbed her daughter in the neck with a knife, before telling a neighbour that the child had been attacked by four unknown assailants.

Fadzai is also said to have told the village head that her daughter had died of natural causes.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed her arrest after the alleged murder was uncovered during burial preparations, when a deep cut was noticed on the child’s neck. The ZRP said:

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Geviza Fadzai (35) in connection with a murder case which occurred on 25/11/25 at Village 2, Fair Range, Mkwasine.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed her three-year-old daughter on the neck with a knife and went on to inform a neighbour that the child had been attacked by four unknown assailants.

“She then proceeded to the village head, where she claimed that the child had died due to natural causes.

“The offence later came to light during burial arrangements when a deep cut was observed on the victim’s neck, and a report was made at ZRP Mkwasine.

“Police investigations established that the suspect allegedly killed her daughter so that she could marry her new boyfriend, who was unwilling to marry her while she had a child.

“The victim’s body was taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for a post-mortem.”
