Kwekwe man arrested after pouring acid on wife’s face

The Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court has remanded Shakemore Manyepa (30) in custody to the 3rd of December 2025 for the alleged physical abuse of his wife, involving a corrosive substance. Allegations are that on the 26th of November 2025, at around 1930 hours, the accused person arrived at his home in an intoxicated state.

He started to burn groceries that he had purchased and his wife confronted him about it, resulting in an altercation. The disagreement escalated and the offender allegedly poured sulphuric acid on his wife’s face.
