POLICE have heightened the search for a 32-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of five members of the same family in Guruve, Mashonaland Central province.
The suspect, identified as Anymore Zvitsva also known as Modho, is on the run after killing the family in cold blood on December 11 at Plot 9, Ona Farm, Guruve.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the manhunt and appealed to the public to assist in bringing Zvitsva to book whose image has been released.

According to reports, the killer went on the rampage and butchered five members of the family under unclear circumstances.
The now deceased were identified as Grace Zvitsva (66), her daughter Loice Chiringaushe (37), and three other family members: Takudzwa Kariva (5), Tatenda Chirenje (2), and Tendai Zvitsva (40). Tendai was initially found alive but later succumbed to injuries while getting treatment at Guruve Hospital.
“We are treating this as a priority case. A comprehensive manhunt is underway involving the Support Unit, CID, Canine Unit, horse patrols, drones, and intelligence teams,” said Nyathi earlier.
“The suspect is believed to be hiding in the surrounding forest and mountain areas. We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
Police revealed that two other minor children, who were sleeping in a spare room, were lucky to escape the killer’s wrath as they went unnoticed.
