HARARE — As the festive season descends upon Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe All Health Workers Union (ZAHWU) extends warmest Christmas greetings and Happy New Year wishes to all health workers across the nation.
In a statement, ZAHWU President Trust Mphelo (pictured) hailed the union’s members as “the backbone of Zimbabwe’s healthcare system” and expressed gratitude for their tireless efforts in providing quality healthcare services to the nation.
“This year has been a testament to the power of collective bargaining,” Mphelo said. “We celebrate our President Dr Emerson Mnangagwa’s government announcement of annual bonuses for health workers, a move we had tirelessly advocated for. This achievement is a reflection of what we can accomplish when we stand together.”
Mphelo urged members to take time to rest and recharge with loved ones during the holiday season. “As we bid farewell to 2025, we look forward to a brighter 2026, filled with hope, prosperity, and continued advocacy for our members’ rights and welfare,” he said.
The union’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, with members praising ZAHWU’s unwavering support. “Thanks to ZAHWU, my children will eat well this Christmas,” said one of the happier nurse, echoing the sentiments of many.
As Zimbabwe’s health workers gear up for a brighter 2026, ZAHWU remains committed to their cause, ensuring their voices are heard and concerns addressed.
