ZICCO Opens Doors For Artists This Festive Season

Harare – In a move set to boost the local music industry, the Zimbabwe Council of Copyrights (ZICCO) is offering free registration to all artists this festive season .
ZICCO CEO, Tafadzwa Masembura, announced the initiative, saying, “We’re giving artists a chance to protect their work and access support. It’s about empowering creatives and growing our cultural sector and free registration is extending till 22 January 2026” added Dr Masembura.
From now until further notice, artists can register at ZICCO’s offices with a National ID copy, A4 envelope, and music on CD or flash drive. “We’re not just about copyrights; we support artists in tough times too,” Masembura added .
With this move, ZICCO aims to ensure royalties reach creators, promoting Zimbabwean music globally .
In November, ZICCO held its annual general meeting in Bulawayo which was attended by over thousand of artist where each and every artist got his or her royalties. ZICCO is a is a body that protects artists intellectual property against theft and it has served artists from theft of their work
