ZimWin (Pvt) Ltd Mine empowers Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe 

ZimWin Mining (Private) Limited has donated a quantum of educational materials, a solarised community borehole for 500 villagers and a US$ 10 000 school fees package for underpriviledged pupils in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe coupled with a pledge to build a school block in the area.

The support is part of the entity’s corporate social responsibility.

It was glitz and glomour at Chipawa Primary School, UMP District, witnessed by key stakeholders and community members on the 21st of December 2025.

The event was graced by top dignitaries including the Member of Parliament, Hon Karimazondo Tichawona Makuwi, Chief Chitsungo, five councilors from UMP, and the UMP Rural District Council (RDC) representative.

The event brought to light the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and fostering sustainable development in line with Vision 2030.

ZimWin Mining company also donated stationery materials and sports materiala to Chipawa Primary School, stationery benefiting over 405 students as well as promoting rural sports development.

Donated stationery included text books, exercise books, pencils, pens, and other learning materials aimed at enhancing the school’s resources and curriculum development.

ZimWin Mining Director Dr. Xilong Su offered assistance to complete a school block currently built up to floor level.

“The support demonstrates the company’s commitment to improving local educational infrastructure.This support is expected to provide much-needed classrooms, reducing overcrowding and improving learning conditions,” he said.

A further donation of $10,000 was made to support payment of school fees for underprivileged students, aiming to increase access to education in the area.

This initiative is part of ZimWin Mining’s broader focus on education and youth empowerment.

A solar-powered borehole was donated to Chipawa Primary School and officially opened during the event, ensuring sustainable water access for the school and community.

The borehole is expected to benefit over 500 community members and support agricultural projects in line with the National Development Strategy 2.

Councilor Kapfudza was the main speaker at Chipawa Primary and commended ZimWin Mining’s contributions to local development.

Chief Chitsungo and the local MP Hon Karumazondo Tichawona Makuwi expressed gratitude for ZimWin Mining’s continued support, acknowledging the positive impact on the community.

“We urge community members to co-operate with ZimWin Mining for continued mutual benefits” said Chief Chitsungo.

Hon Karumazondo Tichawona Makuwi added:

“It is important to have community-company partnerships.”

The mining company also distributed food hampers to surrounding families to bring Christmas cheer in the community.In addition, families living near the mine receive one tonne of maize every year.

Previously,  ZimWin Mining (Pvt) Ltd donated three solar-powered boreholes early this year to Sowa Secondary School; Gen’a community (Ward Kunditsungira Village) and for a local clinic.

ZimWin mine also donated a clinic to the Kunditsungira Village which is currently under construction. The company has completed a 15 million dollar plant that now awaits commissioning by the Senior Leadership.
