Boost for Warriors as Knowledge Musona, Lunga bounce back into action ahead of Angola clash
The Zimbabwe senior men’s team has received a timely boost ahead of Friday’s second AFCON match against Angola as Divine Lunga and Knowledge Musona return to action.
The duo had been sidelined due to injuries on Monday when Zimbabwe lost to Egypt.
However, they have recovered and fully participated in Wednesday’s training session in Marrakech.
Zimbabwe is hoping to field a fully strengthened squad on Friday following a “significant setback” when seven players missed out on Monday due to injuries.
“We lost, and we don’t have to ignore the fact that we had too many injuries.
“We hope that we will push well to get the desired result for us to fancy our chances of going forward,” said coach Mario Marinica after a 2-1 loss to Egypt.
Zimbabwe is targeting to book a place beyond the group stages for the first time in AFCON history, a feat they have failed to achieve in their previous five AFCON appearances.
A win for Zimbabwe on Friday will keep its hopes of progressing alive after Monday’s defeat against Egypt. *_-NewZimbabwe_*
