ZRP Say Cash Reward Remains For Tips On Anymore Zvitsva Who Allegedly Murdered 12 People

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said the cash reward offered by Commissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba for information leading to the arrest of Anymore Zvitsva is still on the table.

Zvitsva is wanted in connection with a series of murder cases reported in Guruve towards the end of 2025.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect or any accomplices is urged to contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp 0712 800 197, or to report to the nearest police station.

In a statement released on Friday, 2 January 2026, ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi also gave further details on the arrest of five family members accused of killing their relative and dumping his body near a dam in Guruve. He said:

“Reference is made to the Zimbabwe Republic Police message on X platform regarding the arrest of Kelvin Katuruza Chaora (26), a male juvenile (16), Chemika Gwenzi (33), Bvumbe Mandeya (35) and Ranwes Chaora (58) in connection with a case of murder involving the death of their relative, John Chimana Chaora (54) in Guruve.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police informs the public that the suspects were arrested after a tip-off had been received on 28th December 2025, linking one of the suspects, a male juvenile (16), to the case, following the victim’s missing person report.

“The juvenile implicated Kelvin Chaora, Allicious Bvumbe, Chemika Gwenzi and Bvumbe Mandeya, leading to their arrest and the subsequent recovery of the victim’s cellphone and pair of shoes.

“On 31st December 2025, the suspects led the Police for indications leading to the location of the body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition near Ambush Dam, Kazunga Village, Guruve.

“Kelvin Chaora later implicated Ranwes Chaora, alleging that he had masterminded the murder following a dispute with the victim over a chieftainship position which the victim was reportedly due to assume.”
