In a major development that has sent ripples through Mashonaland West, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honorable Marian Chombo, has publicly thrown her weight behind a powerful call for national unity led by the renowned philanthropist and traditional leader, Sekuru Banda.

The endorsement took place during a massive outreach program in Karoi, where Sekuru Banda was distributing food hampers, clothing, and essential supplies to hundreds of vulnerable residents.

While the event was rooted in charity, it quickly turned into a significant political moment as the traditional leader urged all Zimbabweans to rally behind President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030.

Divine Leadership And Economic Growth

Addressing the energized crowd, Sekuru Banda, who is also a respected Muslim cleric, described the current leadership as “God-chosen.”

He pointed out that the tangible infrastructure projects seen across the country—ranging from the modernization of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport to the construction of major highways—are clear signs of a nation on the rise.

“These are not just projects; they are life-changing developments that ease movement and boost our economy,” Sekuru Banda stated. He emphasized that for Zimbabwe to reclaim its status as the “Breadbasket of Africa,” citizens must set aside political differences and work as one.

Minister Chombo Responds

Minister Marian Chombo welcomed the traditional leader’s stance, noting that the involvement of traditional and religious figures is crucial for achieving the goals of the Second Republic.

She praised the “Zimbabwe Is Open for Business” policy and highlighted how sectors like mining and agriculture continue to grow despite the pressure of illegal economic sanctions.

“We can see the strides being made. As traditional leaders, we stand firmly behind the President’s vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe,” he said.

Chombo’s alignment with Sekuru Banda’s message highlights a growing synergy between government officials and influential community leaders.
