1 400 villagers benefit as First Lady’s philanthropic work in Nyabira gets support from Sekuru Banda

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s philanthropic work in Nyabira has received support from traditional healer Sekuru Banda which left 1 400 people benefiting in a recent outreach.

The initiative, which targeted vulnerable families in Nyabira underscored the growing partnership between private philanthropists and the First Office in addressing the plight of the vulnerable.

The event was presided over by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Mashonaland West, Hon. Marian Chombo, who represented First Lady Dr. Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa. The Minister took the opportunity to commend Sekuru Banda for his consistent track record of supporting government-led social safety nets and the First Lady’s sprawling humanitarian portfolio.

Addressing the gathered community members and delegates, Hon. Chombo highlighted that Dr. Sekuru Banda’s contributions are vital to the national development agenda.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sekuru Kamwelo Banda for supporting Amai Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope’s programmes which are making impact towards warfare of vulnerable communities across the country. Dr Banda we also thank you for rallying behind President’s Vision for an Upper middle-income society by 2030. We are happy with your courageous support and as Government shall continue to work with you,” Hon Chombo stated.

For his part, Dr. Sekuru Kamwelo Banda expressed profound admiration for the First Lady’s hands-on approach to social welfare. Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the donation, which benefitted more than 1,400 families, Dr. Banda reiterated his commitment to the Angel of Hope Foundation.

“I am in full support of all the Programmes being carried out by our First Lady Dr Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa. Through her Angel of Hope Foundation we have seen a lot of improvement towards warfare of disadvantaged members of societies across Zimbabwe. Today i witnessed food programme extended to more than 1400 families in Nyabira. There are a lot of Programmes which the First Lady has done which include Women and Youth Empowerment, assisting vulnerable members of the community, fight against drug sabstance and abuse, breast cancer awareness, rehabilitation centers among other impact programmes,” said Dr. Banda.

Dr. Banda further emphasized that the First Lady’s work acts as a critical catalyst for the broader national goals set by the Presidency. He noted that the survival and empowerment of the most marginalized are prerequisites for the successful attainment of Vision 2030.

“All these efforts by First Lady Dr. AUXILLIA MNANGAGWA, its a show of support towards attainment of Vision 2030. These programmes are actually benefitting the country. This is the reason why i am calling upon all individuals, people, societies to rally President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030,” he concluded.

The Government’s open declaration of its readiness to work with Sekuru Banda signals a strategic alignment aimed at consolidating resources for the public good.

As a philanthropist with a wide reach, Sekuru Banda’s endorsement of the Second Republic’s vision provides a powerful boost to community-driven development across the country.
