Gaza in Ruins: Israel’s Ceasefire Betrayal Sparks Outrage
By Desire Tshuma
The Gaza Strip is reeling under the relentless onslaught of Israeli aggression, with the death toll rising to 71,412 and over 171,314 injured since October 2023. Despite a ceasefire agreement effective October 11, 2025, Israel’s occupation forces continue to disregard the truce, claiming 442 more Palestinian lives and injuring 1,236.
Ambassador Tamer Almassri condemned Israel’s actions, stating, “The Israeli occupation’s persistent ceasefire violations are exacerbated by an alarming increase in settlement activities in the West Bank. The unchecked rise in settler terrorism has created an environment of fear and intimidation, forcing Palestinian families to flee their ancestral lands.”
The situation in the West Bank is equally dire, with settler militias operating with impunity, cutting off essential services, attacking homes, and terrorizing communities. Over 50 families were forced to leave their homes in Ras al-Auja after decades of residence.
“The deliberate campaign of displacement and dispossession is a blatant attempt to erase the Palestinian identity and presence in the West Bank,” Ambassador Almassri emphasized.
The State of Palestine calls for an immediate halt to settlement activities, an end to settler terrorism, and the release of withheld Palestinian funds. The international community must act to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
