Zimbabwean Killed in Russia–Ukraine War Identified

A Zimbabwean national who travelled to Russia to become a soldier has been shot dead in Ukraine 🇺🇦🇷🇺.

The deceased has been identified as Mandla Ncube, pictured above. He was reportedly killed by Ukrainian forces while deployed in the Donbas region.

Ncube was part of a group of Zimbabweans who joined the Russian military and were later sent to the frontline.
It is further reported that the group from Zimbabwe travelled together with a separate group of 17 individuals from KwaZulu-Natal, believed to be linked to MK, though details about their current condition remain unclear.

🩸 Sources say the situation on the ground has dramatically worsened since yesterday, with heavy gunfire and intense fighting reported in the area.
Back home, Ncube’s wife is said to be working as a vendor at Masabatha Crèche, now left to face life without her husband.
