Prophet Foresees Prominent Chiredzi Politician’s Death

A prominent former MP and ZANU PF Central Committee member died this week, just days after Prophet Brian Zion of City of Zion International Church prophesied the death of a prominent politician in Chiredzi within the first 90 days of 2026.
The deceased, Farai Musikavanhu (64), a former Chiredzi MP and ZANU PF Chiredzi Central Committee Member, passed away early morning on January 14, 2026. The cause of death is yet to be determined, though sources indicate he died following suspected complications arising from throat surgery he underwent late last year.
On December 31, 2025, it is alleged that during a church service, Prophet Brian Zion prophesied about the death of a prominent man who had done much for the town, saying there was an impending death in the town. Sources say there are video clips of him making this prophecy to congregants. On January 4, 2026, he posted on the church WhatsApp group asking members to pray for a politician who had contributed significantly to Chiredzi’s development.
“Chiredzi i am seeing a politician in your city whose untimely death is fast approaching . His days are numbered we call for serious prayers since , for this one has a very important role to play in the city . I am seeing his departure within the first 90 days of the year 2026.Please lets pray for this one . We still need him”, he wrote on WhatsApp.

A pastor in the church, Kudakwashe Majaha, confirmed to The Observer,
“I can confirm he posted on the group early this month. But the prophecy first came on the crossover night service of 31 December 2025 to 01 Jan 2026,” he said.
Another church member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said,
“We were shaken when Prophet Brian spoke about the impending death. We prayed fervently, believing in the power of prophecy.”
In an interview with The Observer, Prophet Brian Zion said,
“I had foreseen the death and tried to reach out to the family before it happened, days before it happened.”
He, however, declined to disclose details of his contact with the family.
Prophet Brian Zion’s ministry is known for miraculous healing and deliverance, with a record of prophecies, many of which have occured. In November 2025, he prophesied the death of the then sitting Chiredzi Town Secretary, Wesley Kauma, who passed away on December 24, 2025, at a private hospital in Harare.
For many people in the Sugarcane town, Musikavanhu’s life was defined by selfless service and loyalty to the ideals of the common people. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has conferred upon him a Liberation Hero status.
