Stepdaughter beaten by her stepfather for rejecting his love proposal
A man from Mphoengs near Plumtree is assisting police with investigations after he allegedly assaulted his 17‑year‑old stepdaughter for rejecting his love proposal.
Trust Chinandoro (34) appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody to 26 January.
According to the state, led by prosecutor Sheila Nyathi, Chinandoro allegedly proposed love to his stepdaughter sometime in November last year, but she turned him down.
A few days later, he reportedly confronted the complainant, demanding to know why she had rejected him. He allegedly assaulted her with open hands before his wife intervened and stopped the attack.
A police report was filed, leading to his arrest.
