‘We’ve 3 Months Fuel Reserves’

GOVERNMENT has assured the nation that it holds sufficient fuel reserves to meet demand for the next three months, allaying fears of potential shortages due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Acting Minister of Energy and Power Development Dr Zhemu Soda, who is also the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, told the National Assembly yesterday that a report detailing the country’s preparedness had been presented, confirming that reserves were adequate.

He allayed fears from legislators regarding supply stability and the possibility of rising pump prices linked to the Middle East conflicts.

Dr Soda said Government storage facilities were stocked and that supply contracts with regional partners remained intact.

However, Dr Soda cautioned that while the Government had taken steps to safeguard fuel supply, pricing would ultimately be influenced by market forces in the event of any disruptions to the supply chain. *Herald*
