Man Suffers Severe Burns After Wife Discovers She Is HIV-Positive & Pours Hot Cooking Oil on Him

A Zimbabwean man has reportedly sustained severe burn injuries after his wife allegedly poured hot cooking oil on him while he was asleep following a domestic dispute over alleged infidelity.

According to reports from the community, tensions in the couple’s marriage had been escalating after allegations that the man was involved in relationships with several women.

It is alleged that he had impregnated both the family’s housemaid and his wife’s sister, while also maintaining a relationship with another woman from the same area.

Sources further claim that the woman later underwent medical tests and discovered she was living with HIV. The development reportedly led to a confrontation between the couple.

“A serious argument broke out after she confronted him about the results,” a community member said. “He allegedly reacted angrily and was intoxicated at the time, which made the situation worse instead of resolving the issue peacefully.”

It is alleged that later that night, the woman waited until her husband had fallen asleep before carrying out the attack.

“She reportedly took a pot of hot cooking oil and poured it on his face while he was sleeping,” another source said. “He woke up screaming in pain and had already sustained severe burns.”

The injured man was later assisted by neighbours after the incident, which has sparked widespread concern in the community over escalating domestic disputes and violence within relationships.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident, while investigations into the matter are reportedly ongoing.
