Tebekwe Mine champions wellness needs for employees
Tebekwe mine has rolled out a free health screening program for all its employees.
The on-site initiative offered blood pressure monitoring, TB screening, and more.
“Our workers are our most valuable asset,” said Mine Manager Amb Professor Smelly Dube.
Employees are stoked about the move, praising management for looking beyond production targets and prioritising their well being.
The initiative, a brainchild of the mine’s Directors, provides regular on-site medical check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, TB screening, and other tests. The program aims to detect health issues early and promote a culture of wellness and healthy living among the workforce.
Amb Prof Smelly Dube emphasized that the health of the employees is the bedrock of the mine’s productivity.
” By bringing these services directly to them, we are not only ensuring their well-being, but also demonstrating that this mine is one big family,” she said.
Employees have welcomed the move, praising management for looking beyond production targets.
A medical doctor conducts the screenings in a designated area at the mine site, ensuring minimal disruption to the work schedule. Plans are underway to set up a clinic at Tebekwe Mine in the near future.
