Man jailed for knocking out mother‑in‑law’s teeth in midnight attack
A Mazowe man is in trouble after he stoned his mother‑in‑law and knocked out two of her teeth in anger over being divorced by her daughter.
Abbition July of Sammerdale Farm, Mazowe, was sentenced to four years in prison by Bindura magistrate Sheila Nazombe. One year was suspended on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Clever Nyapfani told the court that on 24 February, July went to his mother‑in‑law Tabeth Bvuwe’s home at around 1am.
Bvuwe (60) was asleep when she was awakened by barking dogs. She went outside to investigate and found July standing there, demanding to know why her daughter was divorcing him.
When she did not respond, July assaulted her with open hands before stoning her on the mouth, causing her to lose two front teeth. *_-Bulawayo24_*
