Harare court sentences armed robber to 102 years
HARARE – A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to 102 years in prison for a violent armed robbery spree in Chitungwiza, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed.
Tapiwa Mbirimi, armed with a pistol, machete, and iron bar, carried out a series of crimes in January 2023 that included attempted murder and multiple armed robberies.
Mbirimi’s offenses involved shooting a victim, robbing residents in Savanhu, and stealing cash, cellphones, and other valuables, leaving a trail of terror in the community.
