Kadoma girl makes false rape report after being attacked for searching pockets

A Kadoma teen has been convicted by the Kadoma Magistrates Court for deliberately making a false rape report to police.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe reports that, the offender made a fake rape report after she was allegedly assaulted by the victim.

The court heard that the girl, later confessed to police that she was not raped.

An 18 year old female from Kadoma was arraigned before the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court, charged with deliberately supplying false information to a public authority.

On May9, 2025, at around 2130 hours, the offender reported a rape case against an individual named “Mupostori” at the police.

However, on May 19, 2025, the offender informed the police that she had not been raped. She clarified that she had only been assaulted by the victim after she searched his pockets. She then knowingly provided false information to the police just out of spite.

The offender was convicted and sentenced to 6 months
imprisonment, of which 2 months were suspended for 5 years.

The remaining 4 months were suspended on condition that she performs 140 hours of community service.
