18-year old man from Silobela demands refund from sex worker, assaults her after failing to enjoy her services
An 18-year-old man from Silobela has been found guilty by the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court for assaulting a sex worker.
On the evening of September 21, at around 9 PM, the man agreed to pay the victim USD 5 for her services at the Springvest Night Club.
After the encounter, he demanded his money back, claiming he did not get what he paid for.
When the victim refused to return the money, the man attacked her, hitting her on the forehead with an empty bottle and then punching her while pulling her dreadlocks.
The court sentenced the offender to 12 months in prison, but this sentence was suspended on the condition that he completes 315 hours of community service.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) encourages the public to avoid violent behaviour, emphasizing that disagreements should be resolved peacefully, preferably through mediation.
