Rainbow Towers Hotel and HICC unveil lavish transformation

In a bid to reclaim its position as a premier destination for international conferences, state visits, and luxury travel, Rainbow Towers Hotel and Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) have undergone a stunning renovation, boasting a sleek new design and state-of-the-art facilities.
The US$5.2 million renovation, completed in July 2024, has transformed the iconic hotel and conference centre into a world-class destination. The revamp included creating six luxury diplomatic suites by merging four standard rooms into one expansive unit, each featuring two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, dining area, kitchenette, and guest bathroom.
The renovated hotel boasts 293 rooms, including the newly designed diplomatic suites and standard rooms, all equipped with modern amenities such as smart televisions, high-speed WiFi, and RFID key-card access control. The HICC has also been upgraded with new seating featuring integrated charging ports, including 3-pin, USB, and Type-C options, as well as enhanced acoustics and plush carpeting.
“The renovations are part of a broader US$26 million investment over five years, aimed at positioning Zimbabwe as a premier destination for international meetings and elite travel experiences. The hotel has already hosted high-profile events, including the 44th SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government,” Tendai Madzivanyika RTG Chief Executive explained.
He went further and said the renovation incorporates eco-friendly features, such as low-flow toilet systems and LED energy-efficient lighting, reflecting the company’s commitment to sustainability.
“The hotel has also introduced state-of-the-art technology, including smart televisions and internet-based telephone systems,” Madzivanyika said.
With its renewed grandeur and commitment to excellence, Rainbow Towers Hotel and HICC are poised to reclaim their position as a top destination for business and leisure travellers alike.
