THREE TEENS NABBED AFTER MAN DIES HAVING BEEN STABBED IN BOTTLE STORE ROW

THREE teenagers have been arrested after a man died following an altercation at a bottle store.

Two of the teenagers are aged 16 while the third is aged 17 and they are all from Chinhoyi.

Saston Muterazuva died after being stabbed at Mawuto Bar Avalon on Saturday. The four suspects had been drinking beer at the bar and, at around 8:45pm, there was a misunderstanding among them.

The three ganged up to assault Muterazuva, who managed to escape. However, the three pursued him and, this time, attacked him using some stones.

One of the three stabbed him with a knife and they left him bleeding profusely.

Police officers at ZRP Chemagamba were alerted and by the time they attended the scene, Muterazuva had already died.

His body was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem. Police in Banket are appealing for information to assist investigations in a case of robbery and murder at Carlton Curlieu Farm on Saturday. Six armed men attacked the farm’s security personnel.

The gang vandalised the transformer and stole armoured cables.

A security guard, Lameck Dick, was rushed to Banket District Hospital but succumbed to the injuries he sustained when he was attacked by the gang.

In a similar incident, Last Pritchard (23) of Shumavale Farm, Chegutu, allegedly stabbed Dean Majoni with a knife after a row at a funeral. Mashonaland West Provincial Police Spokesman , Inspector Ian Kohwera, told H- Metro Majoni was rushed to Chegutu District Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Insp Kohwera said the suspect was arrested by mourners and handed over to the police in Chegutu. “ZRP Mash West is concerned with the murder cases in the province with juveniles also being involved,” said Ass Insp Kohwera.

“Most of them are emanating from petty issues.”
