By Thomas Faranando
Barcelona Kadoma FC has reaffirmed its commitment to the city and its football community, emphasizing that they are proud Kadoma residents with properties and businesses in Kadoma. In an interview with this publication after their match against Ingezi Hurricanes and Kadoma City FC last Sunday, the club’s directors and CEO reiterated their dedication to bringing back exciting and entertaining football in Kadoma.
“We are Kadoma, and we will die here,” said Matthew Maveto, one of the directors of Barcelona Kadoma FC. “We want to bring back good and entertaining football in Kadoma, and we’re proud to be part of this community.” The club’s CEO, Dennis Makani, echoed Matthew’s sentiments, stressing that Barcelona Kadoma FC is a true Kadoma city product. “We are proud Kadoma residents, and our hearts beat for Kadoma football,” he said.
Dennis Makani also addressed rumors suggesting the club would relocate to Harare upon promotion to Division 1, calling them “completely false”. “We are not foreigners, we are Kadoma, and we’ll continue to make our mark on Zimbabwean football,” he stressed. Currently topping the Mashonaland West Division 2B West League table with 68 points, Barcelona Kadoma FC is focused on the task at hand. Their upcoming fixture is against VIP Stars, and the team is excited for the challenges ahead.
“We’re excited for the challenges ahead and are confident that our community will support us all the way. Kadoma is our home, and we’ll continue to make our mark on Zimbabwean football,” Dennis Makani said. He added that once they are promoted to D1, Rimuka Stadium will be their home.
