High level Zim delegation unlocks advanced mining tech, infrastructure dvpt deal in China

A high level Zimbabwe delegation in China for the 8th China lnternationa lmport Expo (CIIE) has unlocked sustainable mechanised mining technology for local companies after engaging a leading firm in the Asian country primed for mine backfill expertise, green infrastructure and equipment supplies.

The Zimbabwe delegation comprises of the ZANU PF Politburo Secretary for Economic Affairs Cde Lt Gen (Rtd) Dr. Engelbert Rugeje, Ministers of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for various provinces, ZimTrade and the private sector.

On the sidelines of the CIIE, Cde Rugeje accompanied by the ZANU PF Director for Economic Affairs, Hon Anastancia Ndhlovu took time to meet the leaders of FENY Company in Hunan Province to discuss the company’s investment prospects in the Republic of Zimbabwe.

The ZANU PF representatives met Senior Feny Executives, notably Mr. Huang Jing – Feny Shareholder, Director, and Deputy General Manager, Mr Dai Bin Ben the Head of Feny Zimbabwe Company, Mr Deng Fangjian the Feny Board Secretary and Mr Yan Sui, Fen’s International Business Manager.

Fenny has operated in Indonesian , the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and now has some presence in Midlands Province’s Silobela mining area.

Zimbabwe’s mining industry has posted a positive performance
in 2025, anchored
mostly on surging
gold production and the engagement with Feny will bring solutions to companies facing operational challenges by providing complete equipment and integrated mine backfill technology.

Cde Rugeje in his speech at Fenny, revealed that the gold output in Zimbabwe soared by 44%, cementing its role as the backbone
of Zimbabwe’s mineral exports.

“In addition, coal production also grew by
4%, driven by fresh investments and increased regional energy demand,” he said.

Zimbabwe now contributes about 3.5% to the global gold output, maintaining its
position as one of Africa’s
producers of the yellow metal.

The mining sector in Zimbabwe has also
witnessed increased investments in
gold, lithium, iron and steel production.

the fifth-largest economy in Southern Africa,” said Cde Rugeje.

After the visit to Fenny, the delegation visited Chairman Mao’s Tsedung’s hometown, which is a huge tourist attraction and great source of inspiration for all revolutionaries. The ZANU PF delegation headed back to Shanghai to attend the high level Global Trade and international Logistics summit, another 8th CIIE high-level side event on the 8th of November 2025. The China International lmport Expo and all side events runs from the 5th to the 12th of November 2025 in Shanghai, the People’s Republic of China.
