VP Chiwenga’s Wife Donates 20 Wheelchairs to Greatman Foundation

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s wife, Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi, visited musician and philanthropist Tongai Gwaze, popularly known as Greatman, on Friday, bringing with her a generous donation of 20 wheelchairs to support people living with disabilities.

In a statement released on Saturday, Greatman expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture, saying: “Good morning everyone, we as Greatman Foundation would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Vice President’s wife for honoring us with her presence at our humble abode. Her visit was a tremendous boost to our morale and a testament to her commitment to empowering people with disabilities. We are amazed by her humble gesture, taking the time to get to know where we live and understand our challenges.”

He added: “We are equally grateful for her generous donation of 20 wheelchairs and fuel money, which will go a long way in enhancing the mobility and independence of our beneficiaries as we distribute. This selfless act is a reflection of her compassion and dedication to improving the lives of those living with disabilities. Her support of our vision is a shining example of her commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.”

Greatman emphasized that the donation was driven by genuine concern for people with disabilities, and not for political motives. “We appreciate that her actions demonstrate her sympathy with the plea of her children born with this unfortunate condition, and we are grateful for her willingness to make a difference. We emphasize that this gesture is in no way politically motivated, but rather a demonstration of her genuine concern for the welfare of people with disabilities,” he said.

He further invited other individuals and organizations to support the foundation’s vision of creating a more inclusive society: “We take this opportunity to invite individuals and organizations who share our vision to join us in our quest to create a more inclusive society. Our next destination is to try and talk with the First Lady, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, to share our vision and explore ways of collaboration as we strive towards our Vision 2040.”

Greatman concluded by reiterating his appreciation: “Once again, we thank the Vice President’s wife, Colonel Minnie Baloyi, for her kindness, generosity, and support. Her actions have inspired us to continue striving for a brighter future for all individuals with disabilities.”
